Dummies play area

Sometimes, there are things you just don't know the answer to. Things that might be completely obvious to someone else
.....but some how this information has bypassed your brain. Here is a safe haven for people to have a look at the obvious, get back to extreme basics, and find maybe find out some stuff

Campervans..Explained

You might be wanting to rent yourself a little camper for your next trip, maybe that epic roadtrip across Oz, Route 66 or just down the country. Wherever you are going these little things are the same everywhere..

At the Campsite
At camp sites, there is usually an option of booking a 'powered' or 'unpowered' site, and priced accordingly.
The US, Australia & New Zealand are extremely well set up for roadtrippers. Lots of campsites countrywide. The campsites are
usually very clean, plenty of amenities, hot showers and even wifi in many.

Getting power into your van.
At your powered site, there will be a small post, with a socket in it. In your van, there should be a long cable with a plug at one end and a piece that fits to a socket on your van at the other end. Plug one end into the post, the other into your van, Hey Presto you have power!
Getting water into your van.
Similar to the Power, your van should come with a hose, at each campsite there should be a tap nearby. Attach your tap here and pop your hose into your van's water hole! & fill'er up!

Emptying the pooper.
If you have rented yourself a fancy camper complete with a toilet, you will inevitably have to empty its pungent contents at some point. Usually in your van there will be an indicator dial to tell you when you need to empty the toilet. At the campgrounds there should be a dumpstation. Drive your van over. Locate the handle or lock-type switch on the unit to release the poop container, bring it to the dumpstation, which is just a sort of drain and empty.
