Pushkar Camel Fair

Held each November during the time of the Kartik Purnima full moon, this little town in Rajasthan bursts at the seems with all that is great about India. Food, culture, colour, celebration, music! The Pushkar Camel Fair is one of India’s most highly-rated travel experiences, an epic spectacle, attracting more than 300,000 people and up to 20,000 camels, cattle and horses. The celebrations last about ten days all leading up to the holy celebration of Kartik Purnima. On the last day thousands of devotees will bathe in the holy lake in the center of the town, and there is a huge grand finale in the mela stadium.
