Singapore

Picture
Sleek, Sophisticated and Stylish....Singapore is a high tech metropolis, and one of my all time favorite cities. It is a rich melting pot of Asian cultures, friendly people and delicious food. with lots to do, and it is probably the most family friendly city in Asia. Theme Parks, a fantastic zoo and much more, giant shopping malls on every corner, world class entertainment. truly excellent public transport...did i mention the food!!

Orchard Road

Picture
No trip to Singapore is complete without a little retail therapy..a stroll along Orchard Road will have any enthusiastic shopper's head turning around like an owl. I am not a big shopper myself, and i was blown away by there sheer size, and amount of huge shopping centers on every corner. I couldn't cross the road without getting lost inside one...helplessly sailing up an escalator..with the exit disappearing below me..or getting off the subway and finding myself of the 6th floor off some mall...with google maps useless in my hand...pleading with Ganesh or Buddha to let me find the exit.

You can find absolutely anything you want here.
A great time to visit here is during Christmas. The whole street is decorated with amazing lights, Huge Christmas trees, modern and traditional, music, street performances
and exceptional window displays, with all the malls putting a great deal of effort into fine displays all along the street.

Onward Travel

Grab a bus to Kuala Lumpur, only 2hrs away, or to the old calonial town of Malacca, Malaysia.
Crossing the Border is pretty straight forward. The bus will stop, everyone gets off, takes all their bags with them. you walk inside passport control, follow the directions and emerge the other side and your bus will be waiting there for you. easy peasy.
Just make sure you have correct visa if you need one.

Marina Bay, you are surrounded by skyscrapers, there is one building your eyes will be drawn to. The Marina Bay Sands. This luxury high end hotel, boasts a world class casino, Entertainment, an iconic rood top pool and Skypark, designer shopping mall, and a spectacular evening light show. Well worth a visit to see how the other half live!

There are museums, and other sights to see here too, and the obligatory boat trip.
